Teagan and Austin were married in the fall, crisp air and the leaves just starting to turn. They got ready at Steele Mansion Inn, a historic house with tall windows that let the morning in without any help from me.

The ceremony
A cousin officiating, and a choir
The ceremony was simple and meant it. Rev. Meghan Malone, Austin’s cousin, officiated, and the Cleveland Chamber Choir sang, steady and clear through the room. Having a choir at a wedding changes how you film one. The sound carries the scene, so the camera can stay still and close and let it.
When they exchanged vows I was near enough to catch the looks and the pauses, which is where most of the film lives.
The slow moments are given room, and the fast ones land with weight.
Evening · Mentor Park
The reception
The reception was at Mentor Park. That DJ Company kept the music going, Food For Thought catered the meal and made the cake, and people ate and talked and toasted them in a way that needed nothing from a camera except distance.
The film is cut for steadiness: sharp detail, smooth movement, and the vows, the laughter and the music woven together rather than lined up in order.
The wedding was simple and good, and the film tells it the way it happened.
