Chris and Julie’s Renaissance Cleveland and Old Stone Church wedding was a day to remember in the heart of downtown Cleveland. This unforgettable event, taking place on a bright Sunday, September 4, 2016, marked the return of the couple to Julie’s hometown and their home state for their much-anticipated nuptials.

As a Cleveland wedding photographer, I was thrilled to capture the essence of their elegant and heartfelt celebration. The day kicked off with a clear blue sky, setting a perfect scene for the festivities. My colleague Yevhen and I arrived at the Renaissance Hotel, where the excitement was palpable. Our task was to document every intricate detail of this beautiful day.

The wedding theme showcased soft chiffon and glittery taupe for the bridesmaids, while Julie stunned in an ivory lace gown, complemented by a floor-length veil and sparkling accents. The morning was a delightful mix of joy and anticipation, filled with laughter, sparkling mimosas, and the buzz of pre-season football. The mothers of the bride and groom, Elaine and Ann, enveloped Chris and Julie in love and support, adding to the emotional depth of the morning’s preparations.

The ceremony at Old Stone Church, a landmark venue in Cleveland, was a sight to behold. As we made our way across Public Square, the sound of bagpipers, a nod to Chris’s Irish heritage, filled the air. Inside the church, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. The ceremony featured beautiful music, including a soprano’s rendition of “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” and the majestic sound of the pipe organ.

Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests gathered on the church’s front steps to celebrate the newlyweds. We then captured timeless family photos beneath the church’s altar and against its iconic sandstone façade. A tour around Cleveland, with stops at Edgewater Park and Heritage Park, provided stunning backdrops for more photographs.

The reception, held in the Renaissance’s Gold Ballroom, was a vision of elegance and romance. Classic gold chiavari chairs, pewter vases filled with soft pink and cream roses, and ivory linens set the stage. The centerpiece was a luxurious five-tier wedding cake and custom monogrammed sugar cookies, showcasing the couple’s attention to detail.

As the evening unfolded, Chris and Julie, surrounded by their loved ones from Columbus, New York, Florida, and beyond, celebrated their union in style. Their reception was a blend of laughter, dancing, and heartfelt moments, making it a truly spectacular evening.

Capturing Chris and Julie’s wedding was an honor for Yevhen and me. It was a day filled with love, beauty, and the charm of Cleveland – a perfect representation of what a Renaissance Cleveland and Old Stone Church wedding can be. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the couple and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.
