Every wedding day is magical, holding some special energy or spark that you can’t quite put your finger on. For Kelle and Ben, this was their focus on all the people around them. Upon arriving to the bride and groom’s cozy Akron home, we immediately noticed how much Kelle focused on making sure the people she cared about had a significant place in this day. Watching her take a moment to dance around with her little flower girl in the morning, comfort a young man who struggled to find courage to recite his ceremony reading, and happily pose with the little girls who popped into the frame during a bridal portrait session all made a lasting impression on us. This bride was ready to go with the flow and make sure that everyone had a special day. It was beautiful.
Law books were the backdrop for Ben’s morning preparation, as he got ready in his law office to make sure the ladies of the bridal party had plenty of space back at home. Soon though, everyone would be reunited at Tangier in Akron’s Highland Square district, where the ceremony and reception were set to take place. The dark wood work and unique interior design photographed beautifully! It seemed so fitting that the same building that housed performances by decades of music legends would also host this monumental day in the life of Ben and Kelle. We made sure to capture photos with the iconic purple and gold plush booths in the concert space.
Following an exciting first look and formal portraits with the bridal couple and their party, it was time for the ceremony. Kelle’s longtime friend officiated the ceremony, a role that she had been prepared to assume since the girls were in seventh grade (she had played out how the ceremony would go in her head at least seventeen times over the years!)
After sealing the deal with a kiss, it was officially time to party. Guests gathered in the rotunda for dinner and dancing! Ben even took a dip in the fountain, with the “help” of his friends!
We wish Kelle and Ben a beautiful life together, mirroring the unforgettable day on which they tied the knot!
