As a music lover, I must say that the collaboration between the Verona Quartet and Wu Man was a wonderful experience. The program “Goin’ Home” was a beautiful exploration of nostalgia and searching for home, and the repertoire of the evening was an impeccable selection of works by John Dowland, Antonín Dvořák, Luigi Boccherini, Sulkhan Tsintsadze, Zhao Jiping, and Wu Man herself.

The Verona Quartet’s passion for the music was evident in every note they played. Their performance was incredibly tight, and their communication on stage was excellent. Wu Man’s mastery of the pipa was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Her virtuosic playing was simply breathtaking, and her compositions were beautiful.

The Verona Quartet and Wu Man’s collaboration was particularly moving during their performance of Sulkhan Tsintsadze’s Quartet No. 2. The interplay between the pipa and the string quartet was beautiful and haunting, and the musicians captured the melancholic mood of the piece perfectly.

Overall, “Goin’ Home” was an unforgettable experience. The Verona Quartet and Wu Man are undoubtedly among the best musicians in their respective fields, and their collaboration was a beautiful example of the power of music to transcend cultural boundaries.

As a photographer covering the event, I was excited to capture the passion and energy of the musicians on stage. The performance took place in a beautiful Warner concert hall in Oberlin, OH with excellent acoustics.

The Verona Quartet and Wu Man’s stage presence was excellent, and I was able to capture some beautiful shots of the musicians interacting with each other during the performance.

I particularly enjoyed capturing the passion and energy of Wu Man’s playing. Her facial expressions were incredibly expressive, and her mastery of the pipa was evident in every movement of her fingers.

Overall, photographing “Goin’ Home” was an incredible experience, and I was honored to have been able to capture some beautiful moments from the performance. The Verona Quartet and Wu Man’s collaboration was a beautiful celebration of music, and I hope to see them perform together again soon.
