Golden leaves moved in the crisp autumn air as Erica and Vince stood hand in hand at Basil Place in Chardon. Their ceremony was outdoors, with their closest friends and family around them, and their vows left very few dry eyes.
I photographed and filmed the day in true color, clean light, and the slight film feel that suits the season. From the sunny ceremony to the quiet minutes in the garden, every frame follows the same thing, which is what was happening between the two of them.
Morning
Getting ready
Erica wore a Hailey Paige gown from Luxe Redux, with makeup by Jessica Binggeli and hair by Kat Congeni. Vince wore classic attire from Rondinelli’s. The rings, the invitation suite, and the first of Diana Elizabeth’s flowers were all photographed in the hour before anyone was dressed, which is usually the only quiet hour a wedding day has.
Early afternoon
The first look, and the people around them
They saw each other first at the water, on the dock, with the trees already turned behind them. The bridal party joined after that, and we worked through the grounds and into town while the light was still high and even.
Before the guests
The room and the lawn, while they were still empty
Diana Elizabeth Designs brought the colors of the season into every bouquet and into the arch at the end of the aisle. Photographing a setup like that takes patience and a long lens, because the point is to show it the way it was planned rather than the way it looks once two hundred people have walked through it.
Their vows left very few dry eyes.
The ceremony
Outdoors, with everyone close
Mark Prioletti officiated. The chairs were set close enough that nobody was watching from a distance, which changes what a ceremony feels like and what the photographs of it can hold.
Golden hour
Back out to the water
We went back out as the sun dropped. The pond, the dock, the long grass by the house, and about twenty minutes of the light everyone hopes for in October.
Evening
String lights, and a sparkler exit
Taste of Excellence catered dinner, with sweets from Maria’s Desserts afterward. Mint Entertainment kept the music going, and guests danced under string lights well into the evening before the sparklers came out.
