Downtown Cleveland and Farm Engagement Session | Shauna and Alex

There are moments in photography when location, light, and a couple’s chemistry all line up. Shauna and Alex’s engagement session was one of them. We photographed their story in two settings: golden hour on a quiet farm in the countryside, and downtown Cleveland just after sunset. Their ease with each other tied the two places together.

The session began on a farm with soft golden light across the landscape. Shauna wore a black gown with delicate details and Alex wore a classic black suit. The centerpiece of the shoot was a vintage white Healey, which added an old-fashioned feel to their story. Against the greens and the rustic charm of the farm we photographed the easy way they are together, and the frames felt like stills from an old Hollywood film.

As the sun dropped below the horizon we moved to downtown Cleveland, where the city lights became the backdrop. The bustle of the city and their classic style made a fresh contrast. Shauna’s black gown moved in the evening breeze, and the glow of the city reflected off the skyscrapers. Alex, in his classic suit, looked composed and sure. Twilight gave us soft, diffused light that suited their clothes.
