Annie and David chose the Buhl Mansion Guesthouse in Sharon, Pennsylvania, for their wedding. The house has an old-world feel and a sense of history, and it felt solid and lasting, a good setting for their story.
Annie planned an elaborate elopement and thought through every detail. She told me photography was her most important investment, and I felt the weight of that trust.
The day was quiet and just the two of them. We moved through the gardens in soft, clear light, with the mansion’s stone walls standing strong against the green. Inside, the parlor held us in warmth. It was a day of small moments: the brush of a hand, a glance, the way David looked at her when she was not looking.
David told me he hated being photographed, which many men do. By the end he said he did not mind it so much, and I count that as a small, true victory.
Annie wanted bright, real photographs with no heavy filters. She wanted memories more than trends. When she saw the photos she said they looked like they belonged in a high-fashion magazine. I will leave that comparison to others, and I know they felt like her.
She was excited to share them with her friends and family, and that kind of joy is a big part of why I do this work. Annie called the day special and said I made them feel comfortable and that they mattered. That is what I aim for every time.
Their wedding was simple and true, a story told in light and shadow, and it was a good day.
